This article highlights the results of first-round dual as part of the MileSplitCA March Madness Virtual Meet Tournament. Virtual meets are scored based solely on 2020 results using standard dual meet scoring points format of 5-3-1 for individuals and 5-0 for relays. Athletes are scored in no more than four events. No. 1 UPLAND vs. No. 32 POWAY
Senior Namir Hemphill won the 100 meter dash and the triple jump, and Southern Section Division 1 cross country champion Jeremiah Castellano won the 3200 to lead top-seeded Upland over upset-minded Poway, 75-61. Sophomore Delany Crawford won the 200 and 400 and placed second in the 100 for 13 points as Upland accumulated 26 of the 27 possible points in the sprints.
Poway earned 15 of 18 possible points in the throws, led by senior Aidan Simpson, and 24 of 36 possible points in the jumps, led by senior Cameron Willis, who won the long jump, and junior Cole Chinn, who placed second in both the triple jump and high jump. Simpson won the discus and placed second in the shot put.
