It's no secret that Caleb Foster is California's brightest returning star. As the defending long and triple jump champion, he is entering into rare territory as one of our state's best combined horizontal jumpers. Where does he rank in comparison to some of the historical greats in these events? We gathered some of the data to start to get a picture. Bear in mind that we do not have every elite performance going back to 1915 in our database, so this is just a sampling for the sake of comparison.
As you can see, Foster is right in the same range as everybody on this list except Nate Moore, who has an enormous lead on everyone else. It's hard to see Caleb getting all the way to the top, but it's easy to picture him ending up in second by the end of this spring!
