The girls' team has gotten more attention of late, but the Bulldog boys have been improving steadily in recent seasons. Is this the season when they break through as Oakland Section champions and advance to the state meet? It will be a tough battle to get past rival Skyline, who has won the last two section titles, but Oakland Tech has the returning talent to make it back to the top for the first time since 2016. The Bulldogs' one vulnerability is depth, as they had a significant gap between their returning 3 and 4 runners last fall. Track results show noticeable progress on that front, led by excellent improvement from returning #3 runner Benjamin Nicholas. With a good summer, this team has all the makings of a state meet squad in 2019.
