This installment of a 10-part series leading up to the overall MileSplitCA All-State teams focuses on boys in the class of 2020.

The MileSplitCA All-State teams are subjective selections with strong consideration given to performance at the CIF-State Meet, top placing at section finals, season-long consistency at a high level, and versatility. Performances at the end of the season are weighed more than those at the beginning of the season.

In compiling the teams, we make a point of filling every event category and that each event within those categories is accounted for, if at all possible, making versatility at a high level an important criteria in our decision process.

To make this All-State Senior Boys team, it took a top-three placing in the finals at the State Meet make the 20-athlete first team. And, with a couple of exceptions, it took a top-six podium finish at the State Meet to make the second team.

All senior boys who qualified on Friday for a Saturday final at the State Meet earned at least an honorable mention. Boys who placed among the top 12 in the 3200 (which does not hold a Friday night qualifier) also were guaranteed at least an honorable mention.
