CRISTIAN BARNES (Buchanan/CS) | 100/200/400 | Qualified for the State Meet and ran a 48.53 PR for 11th in Prelims. Ranks CA No. 3 for 100m (10.81/1.3), No. 4 for 200m (21.76/1.5) and No. 4 for 400m. His best event was the 400 where he won the TRAC title (48.57) and placed second at the Central Section Masters (48.84).
AIDEN LIPPERT (La Costa Canyon/SD) | 200/400 | Qualified for the State Meet in both the 200 and 400. Ran 22.14 (1.2) in the 200 prelims and 48.94 in the 400 prelims. Ranks CA No. 2 for 200m (21.70/1.8) and No. 3 for 400m (48.31). Placed second in the 400m at the San Diego Section Division 1 final (48.38) and third in the 200m (21.70).
ISAIAH MARECHEAU (Oxnard/SS) | 100/200 | Qualified for the State Meet and ran 10.94 (2.5) in Prelims. Posted the fastest all-conditions 100m in the class (10.61/2.1) and the No. 5 time in the 200m (21.83/1.9). Placed fifth in the 100m at Southern Section Masters (10.89/0.4). Ran both PRs to sweep the sprints at the Ventura County Championships. PR for 100m is tied for U.S. No. 13 in the class, all conditions.
CAMDEN WHEELER (Monterey Trail/SJ) | 400/Relays | Placed fifth in the State Meet 400m final, running 47.45. In the prelims, he crossed in 47.82, the fifth-fastest qualifying time. Wheeler ran the third leg on the 4x100 relay team that won the State Meet title (). He placed second in the 400m at the Sac-Joaquin Section Meet of Champions in 48.88 behind senior teammate Zachary Larrier, who went on to win the State title. Wheeler's PR from the State final ranks CA No. 1 in the class, U.S. No. 3 in the class and CA No. 6 regardless of class.
XAVIER WORTHY (Central/CS) | 100/200/Long jump | Placed eighth in the State Meet 100m final, running 10.65 (1.2). Also ran 10.65 (1.3) in prelims to earn the ninth and last spot into the final. Ranks CA No. 1 for 200m (22.02/1.0) and No. 2 for 100m (10.65/1.3). Central Section Masters champion for 100m (10.71). Long jump PR of 22-01 ranks tied for CA No. 4 in the class.
CEYAIR WRIGHT (Loyola/SS) | 100/200 | Ranks CA No. 3 in the class in the 200m (21.74/1.0) and CA No. 5 in the 100m (10.84/0.7), posting both times at the Southern Section Division 1 prelims. Ran 22.14 for 200m to place sixth at the SS Division 1 Final.

COLIN PEATTIE (Bellarmine College Prep/CC) | 1600/3200 | Placed second in the 1600m at the State Meet (4:09.99) after running 4:10.48 at Prelims. Also ran in the 3200 at the State Meet where he placed eighth (9:09.17). His 1600 time from State ranks U.S. No. 1 in the class and CA No. 5 regardless of class. His 3200 time from State also ranks CA No. 1 in the class and U.S. No. 3. Peattie also ranks CA No. 7 in the class for 800m (1:57.08). He swept the distances at the Central Coast Section Final, winning the 1600 in 4:11.52 and the 3200 in 9:27.42.
NOLAN TOPPER (Bellarmine College Prep/CC) | 3200 | Peattie's classmate placed 10th at the State Meet for 3200 (9:09.89) and ranks CA No. 2 in the class with that eight-lap time. He and Peattie are the only boys in the class to run sub-9:20 for 3200 and two of only four 2021 boys in the U.S. to run sub-9:10. Before running at the State Meet, Topper's previous PR was 9:27.32, set in winning at the CCS Top 8 Meet at Los Gatos HS. He ran 9:28.60 for third at the CCS Final.
JACOB YAGERS (Bakersfield Highland/CS) | 1600 | Qualified for the State Meet in the 1600m, running 4:25.80 to place 25th in Prelims. Ran PR of 4:17.05 to win the Central Section Masters title and earn his ticket to State. That time ranks CA No. 3 and U.S. No. 17 for boys in the class of 2021.
HURDLES

ANTHONY TAYLOR (Cathedral/SS) | 110H/300H | Taylor one of only two sophomores to reach the State Meet in the hurdles and the only one to do it in both, making the final in the 110s where he placed sixth in 14.13 (3.3) to earn a podium spot. His PR 14.08 (1.2) was the fourth fastest in the prelims and ranks CA No. 1 in the class and is tied for U.S. No. 2 in the class. In the 300s, his 37.94 in prelims ranked 10th, missing a top-nine spot into the final by .06 seconds. His time, however, is a PR and ranks CA No. 1 in the class and U.S. No. 2 in the class. At Southern Section Masters, Taylor placed fifth in the 110s (14.66/-0.6) and sixth in the 300s (38.91).

GARRETT BROWN (La Costa Canyon/SD | Pole Vault | CA No. 1 in the class with a pole vault PR of 16-00, which also ranks tied for CA No. 6 regardless of class and U.S. No. 3 in the class. Brown cleared 15-03 for 16th in Prelims at the State Meet. He was third at the San Diego Section Division 1 Finals (15-03). His 16-00 clearance at the Dick Wilkins F/S Invitational, marked an eight-inch PR and the only time he has exceeded 15-03, which he did in three of his final four meets. He is one of only three sophomore boys nationwide to have cleared 16 feet.
CALEB POULIOT (Buchanan/CS) | Pole Vault | Cleared 15-03 for 15th in Prelims at the State Meet. PR of 15-04 ranks CA No. 2 in the class and U.S. No. 12 in the class. Central Section Masters champion (14-09). Had the top clearance in 13 of 15 events this season, including five meets clearing 15 feet, which is a minimum two-foot improvement from his freshman PR.

CHARLIE DANG (Silver Creek/CC) | Discus Throw | CA leader in the class with a discus throw of 174-06, which also ranks U.S. No. 6 in the class. Dang hit his PR at the State Meet Prelims, qualifying seventh for the Final where he placed ninth (163-02). He won the Central Coast Section discus title with a best of 168-06.
