This is the first in a series of video features with returning CIF-State Meet champions -- Workout of a State Champion. Coronado senior Alysah Hickey won the 2018 long jump title (19-9.75), placed fourth in the high jump (5-8) and is also a San Diego Section champion in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. She is considering competing in both jumps and the 100m at the 2019 State Meet, pending the time schedule. In this video, we watch Hickey practice both the long jump and her starts in the 100 meters with personal coach Tonie Campbell. Also in the film, you see Hickey warming up with workout partner Ruthie Grant-Williams, and hear from Coronado head coach George Green, who tells the story of the first time Hickey began long jumping. Hickey, who has signed with Oregon, has PRs of 20-0.50 (long jump), 5-10 (high jump), 11.84 (100m), and 25.09 (200m).
