Being totally honest here: this might be too low for Foothill Tech, and that's saying something when you consider they're a Division 4 team. When a school with an enrollment of 1000 can average 11:25 across their top 5 returning 3200 runners, with 6 girls under 12 minutes, you know they're special. Did I mention that returning #4 runner Olivia Burton ran 5:07 this spring? The Dragons had two seniors on their 2016 squad that won the D4 state title convincingly, but they also had 4 sophomores in the top 7, giving them the 13th-best returning team from the CIF state meet. Interestingly, Foothill Tech doesn't rank as high in the 3 Mile team scoring, which might be due to their avoidance of some of the Southern Section's notorious speedways. Veteran coach Ken Reeves has clearly made an impact here, and this team has a real chance to be in the top 15 in the state overall.
