Boys #CountdownToXC Day 29: Cathedral High

By returning cross country times alone Cathedral belongs in the top 30, and they have solid team 1600 and 3200 times from the spring that indicate continued progress since last November. The Phantoms finished 7th in Division 3 and they have back 5 of the 7 runners that competed there - enough to rank them 8th among returning teams from all divisions using only state meet times. Can their 2017 squad threaten for the title? That depends on their summer improvement, and we hit a snag when trying to measure that: some of our data from 3 years ago and prior is tangled up between Cathedral and Cathedral City. Until we untangle that mess, we can't get an Improvement Rating for this team. With a high number in that statistic this team could be in the top 20, but for now we will just say that we can see the potential for a big season looming for the Phantoms.
