3. The discus is witnessing an epic back-and-forth between Arizona's Turner Washington and Texas's Gabe Oladipo, and the battle is becoming a seriously compelling storyline to follow
A week ago, Fort Bend Hightower (Tx.) senior Gabe Oladipo went 211-7 in the discus, setting a new US #1 mark. Just behind him? Canyon Del Oro (Az.) senior Turner Washington, who went 211-1.
Well…the two best discus throwers in the nation went at it again, with Washington besting Oladipo this time with a mark of 215-8. Oladipo threw 215-2.
For both, they represent huge four-foot PRs. But more than that, the duo is moving fast up the all-time charts.
Washington's new mark is currently No. 15 all-time on the boys outdoor list, while Oladipo's mark is No. 17.
Keep an eye on both as they continue to battle for the nation's best throw, but also for higher and higher spots on the all-time record book.
