From meet director, Brian Shapiro
Coaches,
It looks to be a glorious afternoon for track and field tomorrow! We are excited to have you over for the meet. Attached, please find heat sheets. You do not need to inform of us of any scratches. Adds are always a little tricky but we will do our very best to accommodate everyone.
Your teams are welcome to occupy the infield grass. The meet is distance only, so we don't mind if you are out on the track surface coaching up your kids, just help everyone be courteous to the competitors and not interfere with the races.
We will have a snack bar and meet shirts for sale. Admission is $5 for adults over 13. $3 for children over the age of 5. Make sure that everyone follows the posted signs about parking. PVE police will ticket cars parked in no parking areas. There is always ample parking along Paseo Del Mar, the street closest to the cliffs, and as school gets out, more parking will be available. Athletes need their jerseys for free admission.
All races will be run with waterfall starts, we will try to set out cones for an additional alley in the 800m. But with the largest projected 800m heat at 13 runners, it should not be difficult for the runners. We will also run the 4x400m in alleys or combined lanes, because there are about 10 teams per heat, but these distance kids should space out rather well over the course of 400m. If you've ever been to the Penn Relays, they run the 4x4's with no blocks and heats of 15. It's wild.
We will have medals for the top 5 in every heat of the 800/1600/3200
If you need anything, find a PV coach and we will do our very best to help you!
