All the leading contenders from the 100 meters will face off in the half lap sprint as well. Lauren Rain Williams will be more of a favorite here considering her abilities in the 400 as well. Zaria Francis chased her to a 2nd place finish at the SS Masters meet. Suzie Acolatse rolled to another individual championship at the SDS meet. The contenders from the north include CCS champion, Jade Harrison of Cupertino who will be quite busy in Fresno running the 400, 100 and 200 meter races. Kirsten Carter of Santa Rosa finished 2nd to Briana Guillory of Deer Valley at the NCS MOC meet but does have a 23.80w time to her credit this season.

Leading Contenders: TJ Brock Chaminade (SS) 20.78w & John McDonald Lincoln, Stockton (SJS) 21.34
State Meet Record: Bryshon Nellum Long Beach Poly (SS) 20.43

Michael Norman of Vista Murrieta finished 2nd in both the 400 and 200 at the 2014 CA state championship as a sophomore. As a junior Norman is well on his way to one of the all-time greatest seasons in CA as he chases multiple state titles. He will be a strong favorite here as he rolled to 20.39 and 20.46 clockings in his last two 200s. TJ Brock of Chaminade will keep him very honest and did record a wind aided 20.78 behind Norman at the SS Divisional Finals. John McDonald of Lincoln, Stockton won the SJS Masters meet in a season best 21.34 and will be in unfamiliar role of chasing two sprinters to the finish line.
