Girls Favorite: Oaks Christian (SS) 45.47
Leading Contenders: Upland (SS) 46.06 & Serra (SS) 46.27
State Meet Record: St. Bernard (SS) 44.70 1997

With Long Beach Poly experiencing several injuries throughout the season and failing to advance out of the SS despite their 46.07 earlier this season, the favorite to claim the first track event will be Oaks Christian. Ironically, former Long Beach Poly student Lauren Rain Williams will lead the way for Oaks Christian as they will try to secure 10 important team points. Upland and Serra finished 2nd and 3rd in NCS at the SS Masters meet while the top Northern challenger will come from NCS with St. Mary's Berkeley (46.77).

Boys Favorite: Chaminade (SS) 40.80
Leading Contenders: Vista Murrieta (SS) 40.53 & Notre Dame, Sherman Oaks (SS) 41.34
State Meet Record: Hawthorne (SS) 40.24 1989

Chaminade and Vista Murrieta have battled all season with VM winning at Arcadia and posting the season best time at the SS Division I finals. Chaminade got the upper hand at the SS Masters meet taking the title in 41.18 in front of VM's 41.46. The title of fastest foursome in California will be settled on Saturday with Notre Dame, Sherman Oaks within striking distance of either or both of the top two teams falter in any way.
