As part of MileSplitCA's detailed walk-up to the 2018 CIF Track & Field season, one of the objectives is to interview as many of the elite and returning athletes as we are able to catch up with to provide a feature video for our premium subscribers.
In this feature, we profile identical twin sisters, Elena and Maddy Denner, two of the CA's elite distance runners.
Elena, headed to Notre Dame, was third in D1 at the CIF-State XC final, won the 3200m at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Meet and was fourth at that distance at June's CIF-State T&F final.
Maddy, headed to Michigan, won the Sac-Joaquin Section and CIF-State 1600m and, in the 3200, she was second to Elena in the section and runner-up to Claudia Lane at State.
In this feature video, among the topics, the Denners tell us about their college choices, the reasons behind selecting different schools, their favorite family game, the watershed moment of their exceptional 2017 T&F season, and they look ahead to the coming season.
Follow along as we continue to populate this Track & Field Preview Interview Series with new profiles.
