Nike Indoor Nationals
 
Kori Carter (Sr., Claremont) edged out Bridgett Owens-Mitchell (Sr., Southfield, MI) in the 60 meter hurdles for the win and a US#3.  Carter had a time of 8.396 with Owen-Mitchell finishing in 8.40.

It appears as though every time Michael Woepse (Sr., Mater Dei) picks up a pole he gets a new PR in the pole vault.  Just a week after breaking 17-0 Woepse jumped 17-01.25 to win the Nike Indoor Nationals and is ranked #1 in the US.  
 
Olivia Hudson (Sr., Wilson Long Beach) placed 6th in the triple jump with a jump of 37-05.25. 
 
National Scholastic Indoor Championships
 
Ashton Purvis (Sr., St. Elizabeth) won the 60 meter dash in 7.36 and the 200 meter dash in 23.22.  Both times earned Purvis the US#1 spot on the US leader board.  Purvis also holds the freshman meet record for the 60 meter dash and the freshman and sophomore meet records for the 200 meter dash.
 
Trinity Wilson (So., St. Mary's College) set the 55 meter hurdle Sophomore Class National Record on her way to the 60 meter hurdle National Title in 8.37.  Wilson holds the US#1 spot in the 60H with an 8.29.

Speed City TC won the girls 4x200 in 1:40.45 for a US#5.  The team won with the following runners all from Polytechnic High School; (1) Akawkaw Ndipagbor (JR), (2) Melia Cox (JR), Carisma Lyday (JR) and Sharona Johnson (SR).
 
 
Speed City also won the girls 4x800 with a US#2 time of 9:08.77.  The legs were run by Polytechnic girls; (1) Dynasty Gammage (JR), Rachel Pavey (JR), Vanessa Flores (FR) and Rebekah Oragwu (SO).  They also took 3rd in the 4x400 in 3:49.49 for a US#4 with Akawkaw, Gammage, Lyday and Erica Winston (SR); 2nd in the 1600 Sprint Medley in 4:04.25 (US#5) with Ndipagbor, Cox, Gammage and Lyday and 8th in the DMR in 12:24.34 with Ndipagbor, Gammage, Pavey and Oragwu.
 
 
US#6 Tara Richmond won the high up in 5-09.75  She later went on to take 2nd in the triple jump in 40-09.50 for a US#2. Melia Cox (Jr., Polytechnic) was 3rd in 39-09.25 for a US#7.

Tyler Sorensen (SO., Acalanes) won the boys mile race walk in a US#3  6:23.62.  His sister Nicolette (FR) took 5th in 7:46.85 (US#7). 
 
 
Kortney Ross finished 2nd in the Pole Vault with a jump of 12-9.50 and a US#4.   
 
 
Chimere Ezumah (Fr., Serra Junipero), took 6th in the 400 meter dash in 55.43.
 
Akawkaw Ndipagbor (Jr., Polytechnic) finished 6th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.43.
 
Jordan Diaz (Sr., Leigh High), finished 4th in the 800 Meter run in 2:13.65.  Paisley Pettway (Sr., Millikan) finished 6th in 2:14.31.
 
Brooke Holt (JR., Granite Bay) placed 5th in the 2 mile run with a time of 11:02.01
 
Gardena Core (Serra (Junipero) High School) had three top ten finishes in the 1600 meter Sprint Medley Relay (4th, 4:05.17 US#7); the 4x400 meter relay (5th, 3:52.34 US#9); and the 4x200 meter relay (8th, 1:41.66 US#10).  The runners for the 4th place finish 1600 meter SMR were (1) Maya Brown (SO), (2) Dawnielle Baucham (JR), (3) Breyona Hunter (SR) and Chimere Ezuah (FR).  The 4x400 team was made up of Baucham, Hunter, Deena Peirce (JR) and Ezumah.  The 4x200 team was comprised of Brown, Hunter, Jashonna Owens (FR) and Ezumah.
 
Pentathlon:
 
Three California girls competed in the Pentathlon;  Urina Harrell (So., Gardena) placed first overall with 3504 points for a US#3. Harrell won the shot put with 40-09.00; placed 10th in the Long Jump with 16-01.75; 3rd in the high jump in 5-04.50; 4th in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.18 and 9th in the 800 meter run in 2:35.92.
 
Kendall Gustafson (FR) finished 3rd with 3205 points winning the long jump with 17-05.25; placing 2nd in the 800 meter run with 2:24.50 and 9th in the shot put with a distance of 28-09.00.
 
Allison Reaser (SR., El Segundo) finished 8th with 3052 points winning the 60 meter hurdles in 8.94; placing 7th in the 800 meter run in 2:35.05 and 6th in the Shot Put with a distance of 31-10.25.
 
The Speed City Boys (Polytechnic) took 2nd in the 4x200 meter relay finishing in 1:28.79 for a US#2. The runners for the boys team were Kiree Jabril (SO), Kaelin Clay (SO), Kyle Byrdsong (SO) and Dabness Atkins (JR).  
 
Byron Marshall (SO., Valley Christian) took 3rd in the 60 meter dash in with a time of 7.00 (prelim of 6.98) Marshall also finished 6th in the long jump with a jump of 22-07.25.  Kiree Jabril (SO., Polytechnic) placed 10th in the long jump with 21-11.00.
 
Chris Mamon (SR., Benicia)  finished 8th in the 60 meter hurdle in 8.23 and 6th in the boys triple jump in 47-00.25
 
Justin Montgomery (JR., Bellarmine) finished 9th in the 200 meter dash in 22.42 and 12th in 400 meter dash in 49.45 (prelim of 49.09).
 
Devante Dubose (SR, Bishop O'Dowd) placed 10th in the 400 meter dash in 49.19
 
Corey Winston (SR., Polytechnic) Long Beach finished 9th in the High jump  6-05.00
