BOYS TEAM OF THE YEAR
This section did quite well at the state meet with three teams finishing in second place in their respective division. The Campolindo boys rallied for a late-season charge that culminated with a section title and a second place finish in the state Division III final. TheSir Francis Drake boys won the MCAL team title for the second year in a row but were unable to compete at the section final. They more than made up for the missed opportunity with a second place finish in the state Division IV final. The Lick-Wilmerding boys also won their league team championship (BCL West) but were unable to compete at their section final. They rolled to a second place finish in the state Division V race. All impressive efforts but in the end, the best team in the section was Dublin. They absolutely smashed the Hayward HS course with 15:08 average and 28-second 1-5 spread. They just missed the podium in the uber-competitive Division I state final but recorded the fastest team time of any Northern California team.
