Division 5 Girls

Teams to Watch (Full Rankings)

Along with Division I boys, the girls' teams in Division V also regained a state meet qualifying spot from the past thanks to the fine running by Castilleja and Nueva in the past few years. The Castilleja girls will be favored this year as they return the majority of their lineup and add two talented freshmen to really strengthen their lineup. Nueva should be their closest challenger as they have been the past two years. The race for the 3rd and final state meet qualifying spot should come down to the following three teams: Notre Dame Salinas, Woodside Priory and Crystal Springs Uplands School.

Athletes to Watch (Full Rankings)

The individual favorite in this division will be an easy one. Last year's champion, Castilleja junior Tevah Gevelber, pulled away in the last mile from Angela Leavitt of Notre Dame Salinas and Jenna Lange of Nueva who both return. She will be favored to repeat as individual champion this year on a course that she is very familiar with, the Crystal Springs course. A couple of other runners that will be in the mix are Crystal Springs Uplands School senior Ella Rehman and Nueva sophomore Gaelen Clayton.
