This past Thursday, Scotts Valley Middle School 12 year old Jeremy Kain (above middle) set a new unofficial world record for the mile with a time of 4:36.8. The previous world record was set on June 4, 2016 by Jonah Gorevic with a time of 4:43.20. You can check out all the unofficial world records for ages 5 to 19 at this LINK.
Kain was paced through 1200 by Bellarmine senior runner Alex Scales (above left) and recently graduated Bell runner, Dylan Doblar (above right).
