Top 10 performers from 2017 California State Track & Field Meet

#3 Shae Anderson Norco (SS)

Every year, new stars emerge onto the California track and field scene and this year, the most outstanding of the newcomers was Norco senior, Shae Anderson. She proved to be so versatile that the only question for her was what events to pick for the state meet competition. Despite being highly competitive in events ranging from the 100 meters through 800 meters as well as the hurdle events, Anderson chose to take on a most unlikely double. Never in the history of California track and field has an athlete completed the 400/300 hurdles double. Until now. At the state meet, Anderson won the 400 with a time of 52.91. The hard part of the double was going to be the 300 hurdles with a minimum amount of rest. The final results included three hurdlers under 41 seconds but the fastest proved to be Anderson who recorded a new personal best of 40.31.
