Division 5 Boys
Teams to Watch
Golden Sierra will have its depth tested after graduating 3 off of last year's championship team, and that's never easy for a smaller school. The database ranks their returning team a close second using 5K times, with Capital Christian on top by a VERY thin margin. Using 3 Mile times, though, Golden Sierra gets back into the favorite's chair - and in both rankings, Vacaville Christian comes in third, close enough to be in striking distance with a strong summer of training.

Individuals to Watch
Part of Capital Christian's success is built on having the top returning runner from last year's sectional finals, Brett Lombardi. The rising junior could be pushed by sophomore teammate Micah Filer, and a 1-2 finish at the section championships would go a long way toward helping Capital Christian overcome the defending champs. Another rising sophomore, Diego Bartolome, leads the Golden Sierra defense along with senior Chris Pugh. Dylan Speer (Argonaut) is the only other returning runner with the credentials to contend for a top 3 spot.
