Ben Lippen senior distance runner Jais Ward committed to Furman Monday night, the Falcoln announced on social media.
Ward is ranked 10th in South Carolina cross country in 2023 season.

Ward shared the following on Instagram, "God will test you right before your breakthrough -This recruiting process has been full of many great opportunities and I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Furman University! I want to give all the glory to my Father above, for he has been behind me for every trial and every triumph. Thank you to my parents and my family for being my number one supporters, and to all of my teachers and coaches for pushing me to be the person I am today. Thank you to my grandma, Cat Cat, for sacrificing so much of her time to coach me once again, and Pappou for being my favorite cheerleader.
