This article highlights the results of first-round dual as part of the MileSplitCA March Madness Virtual Meet Tournament. Virtual meets are scored based solely on 2020 results using the standard dual meet scoring points format of 5-3-1 for individuals and 5-0 for relays. Athletes are scored in no more than four events. No. 9 SANTA MARGARITA (SS) vs. No. 24 NEWPORT HARBOR (SS)

Senior Justin Caragao had the fastest time in two events and placed second in a third event leading a very deep Santa Margarita boys teams to a first-round victory over Newport Harbor in an all-Orange County virtual dual team track meet.

Caragao had the fastest times in the 200m and 400m and placed second behind sophomore teammate Jalen Jones in the 100m as Santa Margarita swept the sprints, 27-0. 

Michael Ventura also had the fastest times in two events for Santa Margarita, winning the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles.

UCLA-bound Aidan Elbettar was the lone Newport Harbor athlete to win multiple events, taking the discus throw and shot put. Elbettar's 200-8 discus throw in a March 11 dual against Marina ranked CA No. 1 and U.S. No. 2 based on 2020 results achieved before the outdoor season was suspended. His 63-8 shot put from that same dual also ranks CA No. 1 and U.S. No. 2.
