Varsity Girls

Teams to Watch (Full Rankings)

The Lowell girls have also dominated the San Francisco Section with 8 section titles in a row. The last team to defeat Lowell was the 2009 Lincoln team. Before Lincoln, Lowell won 32, that's right THIRTY-TWO section titles in a row dating back to the first year that hosted a girls final, 1977. Lowell has actually won the overall team title for 39 straight years and that streak started when their Track and Field coach Andy Leong was a senior in high school in 1979. Although they lose their top three runners from last season, Lowell has reloaded many times before and will be strong favorites to repeat once again. During the 2018 Track and Field season, the Lowell girls under the guidance of Andy Leong had 5 girls dip under 12:45 in the 8 lap race. Just like the boys, the main competition for the girls will be Galileo and Lincoln. Galileo finished in 2nd place last year and seems poised to finish behind the Lowell girls once again.
