Boys #CountdownToXC Day 4: Bellarmine College Prep

Bellarmine College Prep was just a year early in 2016. The Bells were in the hunt for the D-1 title, winding up in 4th place after dominating the Central Coast section. They have 5 of their top 6 runners back this fall, which puts them right back in the thick of the title competition. Bellarmine has two things that are rarely found on the same team: a potent pair of front-runners (Meikal Beaudoin-Rousseau and Alex Scales) and superior depth (11 sub-17 returners under in the 3 Mile, plus 6 under 4:40 and 17 under 4:50 in the 1600 this spring). Speaking of the spring, Scales and Beaudoin-Rousseau both put up huge numbers, and Meikal is the top returner from the D-1 state meet, so don't be surprised to see both in the top 5 this November. The only thing that's going against the Bells this fall is completely out of their control: Division 1 is LOADED, with the top 4 teams from last year all returning strong squads for 2017. This is already shaping up to be a tremendous race, and Bellarmine certainly has the talent to be in the mix.
