This past weekend records fell and leaderboards were shaken. Here's a quick rundown of notable performances from our athletes out at Arcadia.

First on the board Thursday, were the Multis. Track Williams (Red Mountain, AZ) competed in the Boys Decathlon and took 6th with a score of 6,140 pts across Thursday and Friday.

Then on Friday afternoon, the Chandler Lady Wolves dominated the Invitational section of the 4x800 Relay in 9:07.38, for a US #1 spot. The mark is also good for a new school record, a shade under last year's 9:07.43, and an AZ #5 All-Time mark! On Saturday, Chandler's super sophomore Morgan Foster ran a strategic 800 meters and just managed to edge out Mari Friedman (Santa Cruz, CA) for 2nd place, 2:09.52 to 2:09.56. The Corona Del Sol Boys also fared well with a State-leading run of 8:05.68 in the Boys Invitational 4x800.

In the Boys Invitational 400, Tyrees Moulton (North Canyon, AZ) pressed round the back and into the homestretch but was edged out by Brian Herron (Lakeside, GA) in 46.47 to 46.62. Tyrees' 2nd place time broke the 47 second barrier for Arizona boys for the first time since Paul Lucas' 46.86 run in 2014. It currently sits 8th in the nation and 2nd for AZ #2 All-Time.

On Friday, in the Seeded section of the Boys 3200 Michael Barney (Saguaro, AZ) and Hociel Landa (Brophy Prep, AZ) ran 9:07 and 9:09, respectively while Luke Mason (Brophy Prep, AZ) took 3rd in the Rated section with a run of 9:12. In the Girls Seeded section of the 3200, Haley Wolf (Desert Vista, AZ) battled for control of the pack until Maddy and Elena Denner (Oak Ridge, CA) pulled away over the final 1600. Sarah Carter (Xavier, AZ) reeled herself into 4th place in a time of 10:35 while Wolf closed in 10:44. Then on Saturday evening, in the Girls Invitational 3200, while Claudia Lane (Malibu, CA) and Brie Oakley (Grandview, CO) broke away early Allie Schadler (Rio Rico, AZ) quickly took control of the chase pack and then opened the gap over the latter-half to finish 3rd with an 11 second PR and State Record of 10:05.70! Also in that mix was Jesselyn Bries (Sandra Day O'Connor, AZ) who finished 16th in 10:35 with an 8 second PR, and Bailey Jones (Desert Vista, AZ) who took 22nd with 10:45.

Arizona's Turner Washington (Canyon Del Oro, AZ) and Elijah Mason (Desert Vista, AZ) stole the show in the Discus, after launching colossal lifetime bests of 217-5 and 212-11. Washington's throw bulldozed his own State Record at Chandler Rotary 2 weeks ago and Mason's is tied with Dwight Johnson's (Tempe) AZ #2 All-Time mark from 1987. Austin Jackson (North Canyon, AZ) also checked off a major breakthrough with a Discus throw of 190-10 to place 7th. Kayleigh Conlon (Mountain Pointe, AZ) tossed 46-9, over a foot past her previous lifetime best, to win the Invitational Girls Shot Put.

In the Girls Pole Vault on Saturday evening, Alexandria Goodson (Scottsdale Prep, AZ) tied for 5th with McKenna Caskey (Mater Dei, CA). Josephina Wright (Corona Del Sol, AZ) tied for 7th with Makayla Linebarger (Reed, NV). Both Goodson and Wright cleared a height of 12-10 before the end of the night.

Finally, Chandler capped it off for Arizona in the Girls 4x400 with a New State Record of 3:46! This is now the third meet that Chandler has broken the record this season.

Arizona athletes continued to make significant impacts on the national rankings this past weekend.
