Dear Coach:
San Leandro High School is pleased to invite your team to our 6TH Annual San Leandro Invitational Track & Field Meet on Saturday March 21, 2020,
The meet will be held at our home site - The Pacific Sports Complexs Burrell Field. The venue is easily accessible off I-880 at Marina Blvd in San Leandro.
The Meet will be run in a standard meet format with typical CIF events. Field events will begin at 8:30am. Running events begin with the 4x100M at 10:00am and ending with the 4x4 @ 5:30.
The format of this early meet will allow your Varsity athletes to try to log times in their primary events that will hopefully serve as qualifying marks for upcoming meets such as the Stanford Invitational, Arcadia Invitational, or the Mt Sac Relays.
Last year we hosted athletes from over 25 schools. Our past meets have resulted in early NCS leaders in several events.
Please Note: The Meet will be held Rain or Shine there will be no refunds due weather. Please join us as we open our 2020 season at Burrell Field.
Accomodations: Teams from out of the area planning overnight stays should seek accomodations near the Oakland Airport, which is 10 minutes from Burrell.

7TH ANNUAL SAN LEANDRO INVITATIONAL

Location: Burrell Field
Marina Blvd & Teagarden Street San Leandro, CA
Time: Field Events 8:30AM
Running Events 10:00AM (See attached schedule)
Entries: This meet will include Varsity and Frosh / Soph competition for Boys and Girls. Each School is limted to 4 entries per event, except the 1600, 3200 and Pole Vault will be allowed 6 entrants per school.
NOTE: There will be NO Frosh / Soph Division competition in the following events: 3200M, Triple Jump, 300H or the Pole Vault. These will be Varsity events only.
Starting Blocks: Our Starter has asked that coaches assure that athletes have familiarity with Blocks before the meet. As he will give kids a set amount of time to get the blocks set up, do a practice run-out, and be ready to go.
Each school may enter up to 2 teams per Relay event. We will try to limit the number of Heats as much as possible in order to move the meet forward in a timely manner. Heats in all races will be run from slowest times to fastest times. Note: We will be continuing the Sprint Medly on the events list this year to give more kids a shot at competing for medals(200-200-400-800).
Entries will be made on-line through Athletic.Net and must be completed by 12:00 PM (Midnight) Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Coaches, please DO NOT ASSUME THAT WE WILL ACCOMMODATE YOU BY ENTERING YOUR KIDS ON MEET DAY. Significant planning goes into these meets. You can help us make it a smooth and enjoyable event by adhering to instructions.

Field Events: This year we have establised minimum marks for horizontal jump competitors (Long / Triple).

Each competitor will be allowed 4 attempts for field events.
All throwing implements must be verified / weighed by the Surveyor of Implements at 8AM at the Clerk of the Course. Only approved implements will be allowed in the warm-up area, and area of competition.
Entry Fees: $5/per individual event, $20 per Relay $400 max per school. Please make checks payable to San Leandro High School - SL Invitational.

Team packets will be available for pickup starting at 7:30 @ main entrance to stadium.
Awards: Overall winners will be based on combined Heat Times. The Top 3 with best marks in each individual event, and relays will receive medals.
Team Scoring: There will be no Team scoring, or Team awards.
Admissions: $7 Adults, 5 Students - Children under 10 years will be free.

Spikes: Spikes must be 3/16 or 1/4 no exceptions
Rules: The meet will be run according to current CIF rules and standards.
No electronics (telephones / headphones) will be allowed on track or field, Uniforms must be school issued, relay team outfits must be uniform. This will help kids get accustomed to CIF Rules for future qualifying meets.
Warm ups: Warm-up area will be behind the Stadiums West bleachers. No warm-ups are allowed on the main field.
Shaded area: Shade structures such as tents are limited to the top rows of the stadium on west side, or east side of track. umbrellas must be lowered during races.
