The following rankings of boys and girls teams are for 5K and 3 Miles. The system discarded the top runner, scored teams based on their Nos. 2-6, and then ranked them. These lists rank the top 100 for each gender at each distance.
(Note that for scoring purposes, the system indicates runners 2-6 as 1-5. The next two non-scorers, if available, are included.)
For each of the four rankings list, we compared the top 10, or so, teams scored 1-5 against these scored 2-6.
For Boys 5K, Great Oak (SS) without its No. 1, Chris Verdugo, remained No. 1 because of its high-end depth.
For Boys 3-Mile (Page 3)
, while the rankings don't change between the top two, Newbury Park (SS) and Great Oak -- without Nico Young
and his record-setting 13:39.7 from Woodbridge and without Christian Simone
, Great Oak's No. 1 at Woodbridge -- the points difference is narrowed from 20 to 7.
Dublin and Redlands East Valley (SS) each dropped three rankings spots without No. 1s while West Torrance (SS) moved up from No. 8 to No. 5 and Long Beach Poly stepped up from No. 9 to No. 7.
