Girls Performances
Event: Girls Turbo Javelin (8-Under) - 23.20m (76-1) - National Champion
Manimuthu won the national title with a 23.20m throw on her second attempt, finishing more than five meters ahead of the runner-up. Her winning mark was also just 2 feet, 3 inches shy of the AAU national and Junior Olympic Games record of 78-4.
Event: Girls Turbo Javelin (8-Under) - 18.03m (59-2) - 2nd Place
Prakash gave Mission Valley a 1-2 finish in the 8-under turbo javelin, throwing 18.03m on her fifth attempt. She improved from 17.61m in the opening round and finished 0.77m ahead of third place.
Event: Girls Long Jump (10 Years Old) - 4.46m (14-7.75) - 3rd Place
Carrington earned a national bronze medal with a 4.46m jump, moving into third with her fifth attempt. She finished seven centimeters behind second place and 17 centimeters behind the national champion.
Event: Girls Long Jump (10 Years Old) - 4.39m (14-5) - 5th Place
Ingram joined Carrington in the top five with a 4.39m mark, giving California All Stars two of the top five finishers. Her best came on her second attempt, and she finished just seven centimeters behind Carrington's third-place mark.
Event: Girls 200m (9 Years Old) - 28.51 - 6th Place
Ledoux followed her qualifying performance with a sixth-place finish in the national final, clocking 28.51 with a legal +1.3 wind. She was one of only eight athletes to advance to Friday's final and finished 0.40 seconds behind fifth.
Boys Performances
Event: Boys Long Jump (10 Years Old) - 4.45m (14-7.25) - 9th Place
A day after winning the 10-year-old high jump title, Brass finished ninth nationally in the long jump with a 4.45m opening-round mark. He missed the top eight by just four centimeters and produced three jumps of at least 4.33m.
Event: Boys 400m (13 Years Old) - 56.47 - 19th Place in Preliminaries
Phillips clocked 56.47 in the 13-year-old 400m preliminaries, finishing 19th overall in a field of more than 80 athletes. He was 2.75 seconds outside the eight-athlete final.
Event: Boys High Jump (14 Years Old) - 1.60m (5-3) - 25th Place
Maldonado cleared 1.60m in the 14-year-old high jump, getting over the height on his second attempt. He was one of several athletes to clear 5-3 before missing all three attempts at 1.65m.
Charles Bates, Mission Valley Track & Field
Event: Boys Turbo Javelin (11 Years Old) - 22.72m (74-6) - 31st Place
Bates improved on all three attempts in the 11-year-old turbo javelin, going from 18.25m to 20.76m before reaching 22.72m on his final throw. That final attempt improved his opening mark by 4.47 meters.
Event: Boys Turbo Javelin (11 Years Old) - 18.69m (61-4) - 39th Place
Madangopal saved his best throw for his final attempt, reaching 18.69m after opening at 10.15m and improving to 11.61m. His third-round throw was more than eight meters better than his opening mark.
