Saturday Highlights

  • The girls Invite 4x400 was a thrilling showdown between Serra and Long Beach Poly with Littleton CO hanging on for the ride.  Serra closed witha 54.40 anchor to win with a US#1 time of 3:42.58 with Poly 2nd in US#2 3:43.04 off of a 53.5 3rd leg.  Littleton finished 3rd with a US#4 time of 3:47.09.  In a ridiculous display of team depth Long Beach Poly 'B' won the seeded 4x400 with a time of 3:49.56!
  • In the boys Invite 4x400 Long Beach Poly CA closed strong over the final 50 meters to win in 3:13.52 off a 47.4 3rd leg and 48.48 anchor.  Serra CA was 2nd in 3:13.96 off a 48.96 anchor leg.
  • Harvard Westlake CA dominated the girls DMR, winning with a US#1 time of 11:45.74.  Camille Chapus closed in 68.6 to cap her 4:49.3 anchor split.
  • What a thrilling boys DMR won by Loyola CA!!  Elias Gedyon blasted a 60.56 last 400 and a 4:06.1 split for a US#1 time of 10:02.23, breaking the Meet Record of 10:02.3h set by Eisenhower back in 1979!  Torrey Pines CA, anchored by Matt Carpowich, took 2nd with a US#2 time of 10:03.80 and Rancho Cucamunga CA was 3rd in 10:06.20.  Arcadia was 4th in 10:06.54 behind the 4:06.7 anchor leg by Ammar Moussa.
  • Long Beach Poly CA won the girls Invite 4x200 with a US#3 time of 1:38.23.  They already hold the #1 time of 1:37.44.
  • Serra Gardena CA won the boys Invite 4x200 with a US#6 time of 1:26.53 in a come from behind victory over Rio Mesa CA, US#8 1:26.65.
  • Kylie Price, Bishop Amat CA, improved her US#3 mark by winning the Invitational long jump with a leap of 19-10.50.
  • Akawkaw Ndipagbor, Long Beach Poly CA, won the Invitational girls 200 dash with a time of 24.20.
  • Harvard Westlake CA bested their own US#1 time in the 1600 SMR with a time of 3:57.23 behind the strength of a 2:08 anchor leg by Camille Chapus.
  • Long Beach Poly CA boys won the boys 1600 SMR with a US#1 clocking of 3:29.62.
  • Johnathan Cabral cleared the 110 Hurdles smoothly to win the Invitational race with a time of 13.48, just 5-hundredths of a second off his national leading mark.
  • Nick Hartle, Centennial, blasted his way to the front of the leaderboard in the Invitational 800 with a US#1 time of 1:51.36.
  • Kaela Edwards, Littleton, won the girls Invitational 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.35.
  • Melia Cox, Long Beach Poly CA, blasted through the 100 hurdles to win with a US#2 time of 13.54.
  • Long Beach Poly CA won the girls Invitational 4x100 relay with a US#2 time of 45.70.
  • Rio Mesa CA won the boys Invitational 4x100 relay with a tie for US#3 at 41.13.
  • Chimere Ezumah, Serra Gardena CA, won the girls Invitational 400 dash with a US#4 time of 54.55.
  • Shaquille Howard, Long Beach Poly CA, won the boys Invitational 400 dash with a US#11 time of 47.90.
  • Remontay McClain, Covina CA, won the boys Invitational 100 dash with a time of 10.66 and later added the 200 dash with a time of 21.14.
  • Kylie Price won the girls Invitational 100 dash with a time of 11.82.
  • Candice McFarland, Legacy NV, won the girls Invitational 300 hurdles with a US#4 time of 42.48.
  • Johnathan Cabral, Agoura CA, won the boys Invitational 300 hurdles with a time of 37.49.

DII Highlight

Friday Highlights

  • Avione Allgood, Legacy NV, competed in the elite Javelin competition and threw a US#2 All-Time 176-00!!  The mark also sets a junior class record.
  • Arcadia (CA) won the boys 4x1600 with a meet record time of 17:32.35 on the heels of a 4:17 anchor from Ammar Moussa.
  • Saugus (CA) won the girls 4x1600 relay with a US#1 and US#4 All-Time clocking of 20:09.51 with Saratoga Springs (NY) 2nd in 20:27.16.
  • Harvard Westlake girls set a meet record in the 4x800, running a quick 9:03.77!
  • Torrey Pines won the boys 4x800 with a US#2 time of 7:48.39.
  • Jennifer Owen, West Ranch CA, won the girls 1600 with a time of 4:55.43.
  • Elias Gedyon, Loyola CA, closed with a sub-60 last lap to win the 1600 with a time of 4:12.34.
  • Hanna Peterson won the girls 3200 meter run with a time of 10:52.51.
  • William Kincaid won the boys 3200 meter run with a time of 9:06.59.

 

 

Orange County Championships, CA

Highlights

  • Jantzen Oshier, Trabuco Hills CA, blasted a 4:04.24 for 1600 meters and it seems he definitely can go faster!  Track Chat with Jantzen coming tomorrow
  • Gabrielle Scott, Woodbridge CA, won the 400 meter dash with a US#6 time of 54.73
  • Katherine Delaney, JSerra, won the girls 1600 meter run in 4:50.98 for a US#3
  • Jake Fraser, El Toro CA, won the boys discus with a toss of 182-09

 

McEachern Invitational, GA

Highlights

  • Kell High Sophomore, Kendall Williams, bettered her US#2 standing by breaking the meet record in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.62.
  • Williams also broke the meet record in the 300 meter hurdles and the high jump.  Williams moved from US#3 to US#2  with a time of 41.91 in the 300 hurdles and matched her 5-10 jump in the high jump to remain US#1.
  • Amber Bryant-Brock (Jr., McEachern) finished 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles with a 42.45 for a US#4.  Byant-Brock also won the 
    girls 400 meter run in 55.28 (US#12)
  • Ama Larbi (Sr., Alpharetta) bettered her time in the 300 hurdles by .01 to finish 3rd with a US#9 time of 43.23.
  • Dana Levy (Sr., Kennesaw Mountain) broke the meet record in the shot put with a US#8 45-05.5.  Ashley Johnson finished 2nd in the event, also breaking the meet record, with a 44-02.00.
  • Michael Newton (Jr., Sprayberry) won the 400 meter dash in 47.15 for a US#4.  Newton also won the 200 meter dash in 21.49.

 

 

Showcase Invitational, IN

Highlights

  • Austin Mudd, Center Grove IN, won the boys mile over some tough competition with a time of 4:12.88 despite wind gusts and cool temps.  Jace Lowry, Martinsville IN, was 2nd in 4:14.98.
  • Waverly Neer, Culver Academy IN, won the girls mile with a time of 4:55.82.

 

Pasco Invitational, WA

Highlights

  • Christine Kirkwood, Othello WA, launched the javelin 166-09 for US#2 and a big PR.
  • Maddie Meyers, Northwest WA, ran a very impressive double in the Mile and 3200.  She won the 1600 in 4:49.02 over Amy Eloise-Neale, Glacier Peak WA, 4:49.74.  She then won the 3200 in 10:18.46.
  • Katie Knight, North Central WA, was an impressive 2nd in the 3200 in 10:26.67 with fellow soph Kendra Wietz, Shadle Park, 3rd in 10:33.85.  Knight was also 3rd in the 1600 with a time of 4:53.80.
  • Anthony Armstrong, Kamiakin WA, won the boys Mile in 4:14.96 in a razor-wire victory over Marcus Dickson, White River WA, 4:14.97.  
  • Vince Hamilton, North Central WA, won the 3200 meter run in 9:09.71.
  • Baylee Mires, Mead WA, won the girls 800 run with a time of 2:13.92.
  • Henry Jackson WA won a quick DMR over Walla Walla WA 10:22.36 to 10:24.38.
  • BJ Arceneaux, Kentwood WA, won the boys long jump with a US#9 leap of 24-04.25.
  • Aaron Castle, Newport WA, won the boys shot with a put of 60-04.50.

  • Mary Cain, the Bonxville NY super-frosh, continues her assault on unreal times with a US#1 800 clocking of 2:06.44!
  • Edward Owens, Packer Collegiate NY, blasted a US#2 9:07.78 for the 3000 meter steeplechase.
  • Manny Mosley, Middletown NY, won a heat of the 400IH with a US#3 time of 54.98.  From another heat Jeremiah Obeng Agyapong, Dewitt Clinton NY, tied the time.
  • Zamir Thomas, Snyder NJ, was the fastest qualifier in the 100 dash with a time of 10.98.
  • Najee Glass, St. Peters Prep NJ, was the fastest qualifier in the 200 dash with a time  of 21.86 with Thomas at 21.96.

 

Mountain Brook Invitational, AL

Highlights

  • Aaron Ernest, Homewood AL, continued his tear by winning the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.05 and the 100 meter dash with a meet record time of 10.47.

 

Blue Devil Classic, NJ

Highlights

  • Nick Vena, Morristown NJ, took over US#1 in the shot from Ryan Crouser with a put of 70-04.50.  

 

Morris Hills Relays, NJ

Highlights

  • St. Benedict's Prep NJ impressed with a US#2 1600 Sprint Medley clocking of 3:29.98 and a DMR win of 10:44.43.

TX District 11-5A Champs (TX)

Highlights

  • Desoto (TX) rolled in this meet, sweeping all relays for boys and girls!  Desoto girls won the 4x100 in 46.45, the 4x200 in 1:39.30, and the 4x400 in 3:47.73.  Desoto boys won the 4x100 in 41.31, the 4x200 in 1:26.66, and the 4x400 in 3:16.92.
  • Kenneth Minkah, Desoto TX, won the 110 hurdles with a time of 13.68 but ran 13.67 in the prelims.  He also won the 300 hurdles with a time of 36.65.
  • William Stovall, Desoto TX, won the boys 400 dash with a time of 47.97.
  • Kierra Hamilton, Desoto TX, won the girls 400 dash with a time of 54.41.
  • Chiugo Okonkwo, Mesquite Horn TX, won the girls 200 dash in a tight race with a US#5 time of 23.93 over Kiersten Brewer, Longview, who race a US#6 time of 23.94.

 

 

TX District 25-5A Champs (TX)

Highlights

  • Alex Austin, San Marcos TX, won the boys high jump with a stellar 7-02
  • San Antonio Wagner impressed in the girls relays, winning the 4x100 in 47.65, the 4x200 in 1:42.97, and the 4x400 in 3:56.31.

 

 

TX District 16-5A Champs (TX)

Highlights

  • In the girls pole vault Kaitlin Petrillose, Round Rock McNeil TX, cleared an impressive 13-08 for US#10 All-Time in the event!

  • Ryan Crouser, Barlow OR, won the discus and shot put with a pair of state records.  Ryan threw 213-7 in the discus and 70-4 in the shot put.
