Here are the top performances by California high school track and field athletes from the week of April 20.

Rachel Chen (Ayala) jumped 19-7 in the long jump at Ayala vs Diamond Bar on April 20, improving from her previous best of 15-4.5. The junior won the event against 13 competitors and ranks #10 in California and #1 among juniors statewide.
Wyatt Miears (Bishop Union) threw 185-10 in the discus at the Carson Varsity Invite on April 25, breaking his previous mark of 157-7. The performance set a school record and moved him to #4 in the state rankings after winning among 45 competitors.
Andrew Gartica (Boron Junior-Senior) ran 10.46 in the 100 meters at the Crusaders Small Schools Invitational on April 25, dropping from his previous time of 11.08. The senior set a school record while winning the race and also recorded a personal best of 22.50 in the 200 meters, improving from 22.98.
Pearl Winterstein (Archbishop Riordan) put the shot at 41-8 at Archbishop Riordan/SHC vs Archbishop Mitty on April 22, surpassing her previous distance of 34-1.5. The mark established a school record after her first-place finish among 12 throwers.
Marissa Nevarez (Taft) cleared 5-2 in the high jump at Patriot Games on April 24, bettering her previous height of 4-10. The freshman won the event and ranks #65 in California and #66 among freshmen, while also setting a personal record of 32-11 in the triple jump.
Victor Manuel Hernandez (Lodi) threw 158-2 in the discus at the Sacramento Meet of Champions on April 25, improving from 135-4. The senior placed fifth among 28 competitors and sits at #62 in the state rankings.
Romelle Harris (Immanuel Christian) clocked 10.77 in the 100 meters at the Crusaders Small Schools Invitational on April 25, lowering his March time of 11.22. The freshman set a school record while finishing second in a field of 19 runners and ranks #6 among freshmen statewide.
