WATCH the Calabasas Girls' All-Time 4x100m Performance

At the 45th Mt. Carmel Sundevil Invitational, the Calabasas girls achieved something in the 4x100m relay that hasn't happened in ten years.

With a team consisting of Olivia Kirk, Malia Rainey, Devyn Sproles, and Marley Scoggins from Calabasas High School, they clocked 44.95 to win the 4x100m relay. This impressive time ranks them first in California, fourth in the nation, and fourth fastest in California history.

Long Beach Poly, St. Bernard, and Long Beach Wilson are the only three California schools who've run faster than Calabasas. Poly set the California record of 44.50 at the 2004 Penn Relays in an epic battle with the Jamaican High Schools.

This past Saturday may mark a return to the California girls' 4x100m relay, with U.S. supremacy as we saw in the early 2000s. Outside Long Beach Poly, the last team to go sub-45 was Long Beach Wilson, who clocked 44.84 in 2005. Carson was the last school to sniff sub-45, finishing 45.06 at the 2016 CIF State Track and Field Championships.

Calabasas' all-time performance comes at a perfect time, as the boys' 4x100m relay state record was broken last year by Servite, and the girls may be following in their footsteps. Plus, teams like Rosary Academy, Long Beach Poly, Canyon Country, and more will push each other to make history in California.
