Top CA Boys Breakthrough Performances: Feb. 25-28

California high school track and field athletes recorded numerous personal bests across multiple meets from February 25-28.

Below, check out the athletes who broke through this past week and will look to carry that momentum into a great 2026 season. 

Jordan Simmons (San Pasqual, Escondido) ran 21.32 in the 200 meters at San Pasqual @ Poway on February 26, improving from his previous best of 22.71. The junior won the event among 36 competitors and ranks #4 in California.

Brodie Beaulieu (Liberty HS, Bakersfield) clocked 10.60 in the 100 meters at the Kern Invite on February 27, dropping from 11.12. He won the race among 56 competitors and ranks #8 in the state.

Noah Richardson (Crean Lutheran, Irvine) cleared 15-6 in the pole vault at the Crean Marina Northwood Westminster Quad Meet on February 28, improving from 14-3 set at the California Winter Championships in February. The junior won among four competitors and ranks #1 in California and #1 among juniors.

Omari Brown (Bakersfield HS, Bakersfield) cleared 6-5 in the high jump at Central Valley Relays on February 28, improving from 6-0. He won among 34 competitors and ranks #7 in the state.

Zachary Marsh (Scripps Ranch, San Diego) ran 49.08 in the 400 meters at the NIKE LB Poly Trackrabbit Invitational on February 28, improving from 51.90 set in July 2025. The senior placed 3rd among 90 competitors and ranks #13 in California.

Camden Smith (Turlock HS, Turlock) ran 15.11 in the 110-meter hurdles at Boys CCAL 1 on February 25, improving from 15.81. He won among 12 competitors and ranks #18 in the state.

Ryan Jones (La Quinta HS, La Quinta) threw 151-5 in the discus at the Saddle-Up Invitational on February 28, improving from 138-6. The junior won among 63 competitors and ranks #21 in California.

Brayden Wolf (Justin Garza, Fresno) threw 51-10.5 in the shot put at the Central East Meet Quad on February 25, improving from 47-9.5 set in May 2025. The senior placed second among 21 competitors and ranks #30 in the state.

John Campbell (Rancho Cucamonga, Etiwanda) ran 10.68 in the 100 meters at Mustang Round Up on February 28, improving from 10.85. The senior placed fifth among 162 competitors and ranks #13 in California.

Jordan Spencer (Oak Hills, Hesperia) ran 47.48 in the 400 meters at the Saddle-Up Invitational on February 28, improving from 48.90. He placed second among 127 competitors and ranks #2 in the state.
