CANIDATES

Amaya Bharadwaj (Palo Alto)

Don't sleep on Bharadwaj!! The Palo Alto senior won the CIF Central Coast XC Championships with a 43-second margin over the field, earning her the fastest time of the meet. The 4th-place finisher from last year's state meet ran over a minute faster than last season at CIF-CCS, which makes her extremely dangerous in a loaded DII State XC race in 2 weeks.

Elliana Patterson (Christian)

Elianna Patterson's fantastic season was legitimized at the CIF SDS XC Championships by dominating the D5 race. She ran 16:46 to achieve the second-fastest time of the championship, which placed her in the middle of the conversation between Jaelyn Williams and Chiara Daiely.

Isabella Mayer (Mt. Carmel)

All season, Isabella Mayer has achieved great success with Olivia Campos by her side, helping Mt. Carmel be a threat for the CIF State DII title. However, at the CIF-SDS Championships, Campos didn't run, and Mayer stepped up to secure the individual title. She ran 17:25 on the extremely muddy 2.96-mile rain course version of Balboa Park.

Brenna Mannion (Vista del Lago)

Last year, Brenna Mannion ran 19:02 to finish fourth at the CIF Sac-Joaquin XC Championships. This year, she significantly improved to 17:52 and dominantly secured the DII individual championship. She will return to the CIF State XC Championships, but now as one of the favorites.

Monserrat Santillan Silva (Century)

At the CIF Southern Section Prelims, the 3-mile rain course across the parking lots of Mt. SAC produced speedy times the entire weekend. Montserrat Santillan Silva ran the second fastest time of the weekend, 16:55, to win by 40 seconds. She is a favorite to win the D4 championship this weekend and looks more ready than ever to compete.
