ASICS Mt. Carmel Invitational Host Top Athletes

Top California athletes will be heading to the 32nd annual ASICS/Mt. Carmel Invitational this Saturday.

Junior Elias Gedyon (Loyola) will be competing in the 1600 meter run.  He comes into the race with the fastest 1600 time of 4:07.26.  Mike Goodger (Sr., Carlsbad) and Dylan Marx (Sr., Mt. Miguel) have both run under 4:20 and will be looking to improve on their time.  

 

Mike Woepse (Sr., Mater Dei) leads the nation in Pole Vault, indoors and out.  As a junior Woespe reached a PR of 16-9 at the Arcadia Invitational.  Recently Woespe traveled to Boston for the Nike Indoor Nationals and won the Pole Vault event with a 17-1.75.  Five days later he hit a 17-6 at an outdoor dual meet with Orange Lutheran.  

 

High Jumper Harrison Steed (Sr., JSerra) has jumped over 7 feet as a sophomore and again as a junior.  He is heading into Saturday's meet with a 6-10 jump this season.

 

Molly Grabil (Jr., Rancho Bernardo) and Megan Morgan (Sr., Torrey Pines) both Foot Locker National finalist will be toeing the line in the 3200 meter run.  Grabill has a PR of10:23.75 while Morgan's PR is at 10:31.91.  Morgan is also listed in the 1600 and will be facing off against teammate Alli Billmeyer (Jr.).  

 

Rio Mesa High School Boys are ranked US#2 in the 4x100 meter relay.  Rio Mesa's time of 41.42 was earned at the Ventura Invite on March 13th.  

 

The meet kicks off at 11:00 AM on Saturday with the Girls 4x400 Meter Relay and multiple field event!
