In this edition of California's Future Stars, we'll look at the sprint rankings for all freshmen and sophomores as we approach the middle of the season.
One name that stands out in these top 10 rankings is Kadence Bain from Long Beach Poly, who leads both hurdle disciplines. Bain ran 14.28 in Arizona at the Chandler Rotary Invitational, earning the top time in the 100m hurdles. Last week she won the 300m hurdles at the Trabuco Hills Invitational in 42.92, securing the number one spot in California for frosh/soph rankings.
These times are remarkable, considering this is Bain's first year doing the hurdles. With only some experience under her, Bain is also ranked in the top 10 in all of California in both events.
She is one of the many freshmen and sophomores who undoubtedly represent the future while also being part of the present. Below, view the top 10 girl sprinters who are freshmen and sophomores.
