POLL Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week

* * *

Congratulations to Galadriel Mellion of Weston Ranch (SJ) last week's top vote-getter for MileSplit Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

Galadriel, a senior headed to Arizona State in the fall, swept the throws at the Viking Invitational going 132-4 in the discus and 40-07.50 in the shot put at Edison HS in Stockton.

Galadriel received a whopping 70 percent (!!) of the vote in a statewide poll. Jillene Wetteland, a sophomore at Long Beach Poly, was second in the voting at 10 percent.

Congratulations to all athletes whose performances warrant consideration in this weekly poll. And thanks to everyone who voted to support these amazing athletes.

Who's next?

This week, we have a deep sampling of the outdoor season performances that shuffled the majority of the state's leaderboards. No easy choices for our eight on the line this week.

Check out the resumes below and then make sure to vote in the FanPower module at the bottom of the page. That is where you decide the top girls track and field athlete of the week.

As always, voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.
