Foot Locker Nats: Mizereck Top Florida Finisher in 10th

The Miz ran a great, well paced race this morning in San Diego. He started in the middle of the pack, moved into 14th at half way point and finished in 10th place around 15:37 on the muddy, hilly course, in pounding rain.

Brian Atkinson finished a respectable 23rd, despite slipping and falling on the muddy hillside at Balboa Park. His time was around 15:47. Colin Barker just didn't have his day and was in 40th.

On the girls side, it was not what Florida was hoping for. Kathryn Fluehr positioned herself really well through 2 miles near the leader, but fell back up the final hill. Disheartened and unaccustomed to athletes passing her she let herself slip to 28th. A little more experience and hill work and she'll be back next year and up there! Erika Fluehr was 34th and Shelby Hayes was 39th. Shelby had a positive outlook after and said it just wasn't her day, but she has achieved all of her goals this year.
