Watch: The region's top sprinter, Elk Grove Franklin (SJ) junior Ian Peoples is not entered but a surprise who is? St. Mary's (SJ) senior hurdle star Jadyn Marshall (pictured). One of the nation's elite hurdlers is getting in a bit of speed work while looking to improve his 10.84. If he sticks here, this event comes up just 20 minutes after his scheduled 110m hurdles race. Benicia (NC) senior Croix Stewart ranks CA No. 15 with a best of 10.61, Pinole Valley (NC) senior Cornell Davis has gone 10.73. As a freshman in 2019, Stewart recorded marks here in the 100m, 200m, and 400m, placing ninth, 10th, and 13th, respectively.

Watch: Rocklin (SJ) senior MacGregor TeSelle has gone 21.54 (3.0) and 21.80 (wind-legal) to lead this field. Benicia's Stewart has a best of 21.98 and Manteca senior Zion Allen has clocked 22.16.

Watch: Moreau Catholic (NC) junior Bryce Thomas is the sprinter to beat here with TeSelle (49.60), Rocklin junior Christopher Franco (49.76), and Oak Ridge (SJ) senior Luke Stewart (49.77) expected in the hunt. 

800 Meters

Record: James Levine (Golden Valley/SJ) 1:48.85, 1997
Watch: Stockton Lincoln (SJ) senior Noah Pagaran has gone 1:53.84 and ranks CA No. 14. Hughson (NC) junior Joseph Lighthall ranks CA No. 17 with a 1:54.04 best and Pitman (SJ) senior Damian Garcia has a best of 1:54.70. Reno senior Kyle Ortega-Gammill ranks No. 2 in Nevada at 1:55.87.

1600 Meters

Record: Cooper Teare (St. Josephs/NC) 3:59.80, 2009
Watch: Reno senior Kyle Ortega-Gammill ran this distance in 4:08.67 to win a Stanford, a time that leads Nevada and ranks U.S. No. 10. Challenging the visitor figures to be a host of familiar Northern California distance standouts led by Wake Forest-bound St. Mary's (SJ) senior Daniel Winter (4:11.06/CA No. 8), Yale-bound Jesuit (SJ) senior Braden King (4:12.64/CA No. 14), Northern Section leader Chico senior Mario Giannini (4:17.18), and a pack of others who have gone sub 4:22.

3200 Meters

Watch: St. Mary's senior Daniel Winter comes in with sub-9 credentials (8:57.74) and figures to lead the parade that should include up front the likes of Davis (SJ) senior Zachary Ayers, Chico (NS) senior Mario Giannini, and Sonora (SJ) senior Adin Dibble. Among others to watch are St. Mary's (NC) junior 800-1600 standout Mateo Malko-Allen, and Sacramento Country Day (SJ) freshman distance standout Andrew Burr


110 Meter Hurdles

Record: David Klech (California/NC) 13.69, 2006
Watch: St. Mary's (SJ) senior Jadyn Marshallof the nation's best hurdlers, is scheduled to continue a spring tour that has included the Texas Relays, Stanford Invitational, Arcadia Invitational, and Mt. SAC Relays, as puts his U.S.-leading 13.35 (2.2) time from his visit to Austin, TX on the line at SRC. Marshall, headed to UCLA for football and track, also has a wind-legal best of 13.49 (0.9). Marshall went 14.33 for third here as a freshman in 2019, as well as 38.26 for second in the 300m hurdles, both races finishing behind his brother Jamar Marshall

300 Meter Hurdles

Watch: Marshall isn't scheduled to compete here, leaving the race to SJS No. 2 Ripon (SJ) senior Anthony Sausedo (38.69) to hold off the challenge from Woodcreek (SJ) senior Isaiah Earls (40.04), Pleasant Grove (SJ) junior Stephen Dahdouh (40.69) and Lathrup (SJ) sophomore Adonis Siga (40.69).

400 Meter Relay

Watch: McClymonds (OK) brings its CA No. 6 best of 41.60 looking for a big drop to threaten that record. Acalanes at 41.66 (CA No. 8) should provide the push that will carry both of these squads to season bests. El Cerrito at 42.03 is NCS No. 3 and CA No. 16. 


1600 Meter Relay

Record: Vallejo (NC) 3:13.94
Watch: Stockton Edison (3:26.22) anchored by junior Tyree Owens has the top entry time with Del Camp (3:27.63), Pittman (3:28.52), East Union (3:28.82), and Fresno Edison (3:28.99) expected to lead the chase for podium spots. 

Long Jump

Watch: Keep an eye on the competition here as Salesian (NC) senior Ajamu Reed (23-3-50) and Lodi (SJ) junior Maceo McDowell (23-2) are scheduled here in what would be a battle of the respective section leaders.

Triple Jump

Watch: Freedom senior Elijah Jordan ranks No. 2 in the NCS at 44-3.50 and Rocklin senior Kyran Bell ranks No. 1 in the NCS at 44-3. Bell's teammate, junior Brendan Ferraro (43-6), and Foothill (NC) senior Chase Dinkel (43-8.75) figure to battle for top honors. Rocklin senior Elias Mullican has gone 43-6.50.

High Jump

Watch: Davis (SJ) senior Ray Oldham has a best of 6-6, tied or CA No. 6, and went 6-8 outdoors over the winter. Matching that PR would put him tied for third in CA.

Watch: Expect a good battle at the top where SJS leader Kyle Burns, a senior at Oak Ridge, has cleared 15-8,

Discus Throw

Watch: Three of the state's top throwers are featured here in Enochs (SJ) senior Abayomi Babalola, James Logan (NC) senior Jacob Watts (NC) and Paradise (NS) senior Simon Dixon. All are their respective leaders, led by Babalola's 178-7 for CA No. 8, Watts is CA No. 17 at 167-7, and Dixon is CA No. 18 at 166-7. 

Shot Put

Record: Mark Lewis (Arroyo Grande/CS) 63-02.75, 2004

Watch: The same three lead this field but here it's the Northern Section leader, Dixon, as the thrower to beat with a CA No. 9-ranked best of 57-2. Babalola has thrown 51-0.50 and Watts has a best of 50-1. Fresno Edison (CS) junior Eric Nakagawa has a best of 51-3.
