Breaking News: Cross Country to Start September 9

AIA Executive Board Approves Fall Sports Schedule

Although there are currently no cross country invitationals out there on various meet sites, there will be a high school cross country season in 2020 now that the Arizona Interscholastic Association's Executive Board had a special meeting on Wednesday, August 5th which voted to phase-in the beginning of fall sports for Arizona high schools.

Cross country will be able to have its first official practice on August 24 and the first competitions will be on September 9. The State Championships appear to be now a two-day event instead of one, with the State dates now being November 12 and 13.

One would imagine that there may be some tweaks in how invitationals are conducted this season to help with social distancing and keep the athletes as safe as possible.
