Watch Long Beach Wilson boys run a U.S. No. 1 time in the SMR
The Long Beach Wilson boys relay teams put up fast times in a short season and that, say 53.63 percent of 
voters, was the top performance by a individual or relay team or teams during the abbreviated 2020 outdoor season.
At the Louis Zamperini Invitational on Feb. 22, the Bruins boys quartet of (pictured from left) senior Jordan Weimer, sophomore Leroy Crook, freshman Isaac Lewis, and junior Phillip Jefferson put down a sprint medley relay (SMR) time of 3:28.52 -- fastest in the U.S. -- and a 4x800-meter relay time of 8:00.73, which ranked U.S. No. 4.
This week's MileSplitCA poll asked "What was the top boys outdoor performance of 2020?" and provided 11 U.S.-ranked options as well as the opportunity to comment. The overwhelming majority of voters selected the combined effort by the Wilson relays from the Zamperini meet held at Torrance HS.

Cathedral junior hurdler Anthony Taylor put up a CA No. 1 and U.S. No. 7 time (for wind-legal marks) of 14.46 (-1.1) in the 110m hurdles at the March 7 Oaks Christian Invitational. That performance drew 20.73 percent of the vote.
Third in the voting at 13.03 percent, was the U.S. No. 1 time for 800 meters posted by Amador Valley junior John Lester, who ran two laps in a rapid 1:52.06 at the Dan Gabor Distance Invitational on March 7.
No other poll option received at least 10 percent of the vote. Fourth, at 5.77 percent of the vote, was the U.S. No. 1 DMR time of 10:01.82 put up by Jesuit at Holy Spikes on March 11.
