This article highlights the results of first-round dual as part of the MileSplitCA March Madness Virtual Meet Tournament. Virtual meets are scored based solely on 2020 results using the standard dual meet scoring points format of 5-3-1 for individuals and 5-0 for relays. Athletes are scored in no more than four events. No. 10 LONG BEACH WILSON (SS) vs. No. 23 SAN PASQUAL (SD)

Two of the state's most versatile athletes, senior Rachel Glenn of Long Beach Wilson, and junior Elise Miller of San Pasqual, went head to head in this first-round virtual dual track meet. 

Well, they went head to head in one event, the 100m hurdles. In that, Glenn, who has the No. 4 time in the state, was first. Miller was second. 

Glenn would also take the 300m hurdles, an even where she is the defending State Meet champion. 

But Glenn's dominance over the barriers was not enough to lift Long Beach Wilson in this virtual dual. And Miller's stat line had a lot to do with that. 

Miller had the top marks in three jumps -- high, long and triple -- in addition to her runner-up slot in the straightline hurdles. Her 18 points went a long way to helping the Eagles advance. 

Miller, third at the 2019 CIF-State Championships in the triple jump as a sophomore, bounded to a 40-5.50 -- just a half-inch off her PR -- at the Mt. Carmel/All Pro Stickers Field & Distance Carnival on March 7. That mark ranks No. 1 in CA and No. 4 in the U.S. for results achieved before the 2020 outdoor season was suspended.

In support of Miller's efforts adding 11 points to San Pasqual's total, senior Rebecca Dominguez had the top height in the pole vault and earned runner-up points behind Miller in the high jump and long jump.
