CA's Top 10 girls to watch for 2020 Track & Field Season

10) Charlotte Tomkinson Menlo (CCS) 800 Meters

Last season, the Menlo girls continued to collect WBAL team titles and for the first time in school history, the Knights won their first section team title. They were led by their two outstanding distance runners, Kyra Pretre and Charlotte Tomkinson. Pretre won the 1600, finished behind Tomkinson in the 800 and ran a leg on the 2nd place 1600 relay team. During the season, Tomkinson won the 800 at the Dublin Distance Fiesta and was the top California athlete in the 800 at the Arcadia Invitational as she finished in 4th place. At the CCS finals, Tomkinson completed one of the toughest triples in track as she finished in 3rd place in the 400, won her 2nd section title in the 800 and anchored the 1600 relay team to a season-best 3:56.74. At the state meet, Tomkinson improved from her 6th place finish as a sophomore to 2nd place and will be one of the favorites to win it all this coming season.
