Senior Girls 2019 XC All-MileSplitCA Team


The MileSplit California 2019 All-State Senior Girls Cross Country first team is based on finish at the State Meet within the class. Additionally, results at section divisional finals and other top performances are considered for second team and honorable mention placement and inclusion. All athletes placing between eighth and 30th within the class at the State Meet are included.

FIRST TEAM

(Athletes are listed alphabetically)


Carlie won the CIF-State Division I championship, running the 5K course at Woodward Park in Fresno in 16:45.40, the fourth fastest time ever in the the D-I final and the No. 3 time in State Meet history by a senior girl. It was also the No. 7 time overall in State Meet history. That time also ranks No. 1 in CA in 2019 and No. 7 U.S. for 5K. Her 15:57.50 at Dana Hills in late September ranked as the fastest 3-mile race in the U.S. She won a second consecutive San Diego Section DI title and placed sixth overall at NXN, the top CA girl. 


UNIQUE FORDMadera (CS)



Unique placed sixth in the Division II race at the State Meet. Her time of 17:43.50 over the 5K course at Woodward Park is a PR and ranked sixth in the class at the meet. She won the Central Section D-II title for the second time while running the No. 2 time in the class at the meet (18:15.51). 


Madeleine placed fifth in the Division II race at the State Meet in a time of 17:43.10, which ranked second in the class in the race and fifth overall in the class at the meet. Locher won the Southern Section Division 2 race with the top overall time in the class (17:06.10) and third overall at the meet. 



Gianna placed third in the Division II race at the State Meet in a time of 17:36.40 that ranked fourth in the class at the meet. It was also a 5K PR that ranked seventh in the class for the season. She won the Central Coast Section D-II title (17:55.55).




Savannah placed second in the Division III race at the State Meet in a time of 17:22.50, which ranked third in the class from that meet. That time also ranked 12th in CA for 5K in 2019 and fifth among seniors. She won the Southern Section D3 title (17:28.5) while leading her team to the title. Her time of 16:28.90 for sixth at Woodbridge ranks U.S. No. 10 for 3 miles. She closed out her XC career at NXN placing 33rd overall and fourth among CA girls.


CORIE SMITHBuchanan (CS)



Corie crossed the line at the State Meet in 17:00.00 for second place behind Carlie Dorostkar in the Division I championship while leading Buchanan to the D-I title. Smith's time ranked No. 2 in the class at State and slotted as the No. 9 fastest time in Division I history. It also equalled the 2017 result of Capistrano Valley's Haley Herberg as No. 6 all-time for senior girls at State. Smith won at Woodbridge (16:04.80) while leading Buchanan to the team title, won at Clovis in a 5K PR of 16:53.90, the No. 10 performance in CA history, won a second consecutive Central Section title and third in four years, and closed out her XC career at NXN placing 12th overall and second among CA girls. 


SKYLER WALLACESage Creek (SD)



Skyler placed second in the Division IV race at the State Meet while leading Sage Creek to a second consecutive team title. Her time of 17:48.20 ranked seventh in the class at State. She won a third consecutive San Diego Section D4 title with the No. 2 overall time at the meet. Wallace won her race and had the No. 3 time in the class at Mt. SAC (17:28.00), the No. 4 time in the class at Woodbridge (16:43.50) and placed second at Foot Locker West Regional to qualify to compete at the Foot Locker National Championships.


SECOND TEAM

HANA CATSIMANES (San Clemente/SS) -- Hana won the Southern Section Division 1 title (17:21.40), won her race at Mt. SAC with the No. 2 overall time in the class. She also won the OC Championships and had the No. 5 time in the class at both Clovis and Woodbridge. Her 16:44.90 for second behind Carlie Dorostkar at Dana Hills ranked sixth among senior girls in season rankings for 3-miles. 

CARLY CORSINITACapistrano Valley (SS) -- Carly's 17:10.30 for fifth in the Division 2 race at the Southern Section Finals ranked No. 2 in the class at that meet. She placed 14th in the D-II race at the State Meet in 18:03.20, a time that ranked 13th in the class at State. Corsinita was seventh at Foot Locker West Regional and competed at the Foot Locker National Championships.

AUDREY DANGGreat Oak (SS) -- Audrey emerged as the No. 1 runner for Great Oak toward the end of the season. She placed fifth as Great Oak won the Southern Section Division 1 title and placed 10th overall leading the team's runner-up effort at State where her time of 17:50.60 ranked ninth in the class at State.

ISABELLA FAURIASt. Francis (SJ) -- Izzy posted the fourth fastest 3-mile time in the class for seventh at Woodbridge (16:33.30) and the No. 10 clocking for 5K in the class while placing eighth at Clovis (17:45.90).  She was eighth in the D2 race at the Sac-Joaquin Section Championships while helping St. Francis to the title. She placed no worse than sixth in the class at Mt. SAC (6th), Clovis (4th) and Woodbridge (3rd).

TORI GAITAN, Great Oak (SS) -- The former Southern Section and State Meet champion's season was shortened by illness but before that she placed fourth in the class at Mt. SAC, sixth at Woodbridge and seventh at Clovis while leading the Wolfpack to the title. Her 5K time at Clovis (17:50.50) ranked 12th in the class for the season and her 16:54.00 for second to Madeleine Locher at Apache ranked eighth in the class for 3 miles.

HAILEY GOLMONNewbury Park (SS) -- Hailey became a key scorer as Newbury Park won Southern Section Division 2 and State Division II team titles and earned a spot on the line at NXN. She ran No. 2 for the Panthers in both SS and State meets. Her time of 17:57.70 for 11th in the D-II race at State ranked 10th in the class at that meet. She ran No. 1 for Newbury Park at NXN.

PALOMA HANCOCKCampolindo (NC) -- Paloma placed fifth in the Division III race at the State Meet while leading Campolindo to the team title. Her time of 18:04.70 ranked 14th in the class at State. She won the D-3 title at the North Coast Section Championships in 17:40.60, the No. 2 time in the class at that meet.
