Analysis: Thomas Boyden had a strong junior cross-country season. He won all of the smaller invitationals his team competed in last season, including the Juab Yuba Invitational, the Payson Night Huntand the Park City XC Invitational. At the big meets, he also ran well, including a sixth-place finish at the Bob Firman Invitational (15:23.50). He wrapped up his regular season with a fifth-place showing at the Class 5A Utah State XC Championships. In the postseason, Boyden competed at the Foot Locker West Regional and earned a trip to San Diego after finishing sixth in his region. At Foot Locker Nationals, he placed 13th (15:46.10) to earn All-American honors.

On the track in the spring, Boyden finished 13th in the 3200m at Arcadia, running a PR of 8:57.79. He also PR'd in the 1600m, running 4:11.13 to win the BYU High School Invitational. At the Class 5A Utah State Track and Field ChampionshipsBoyden finished runner-up behind Springville (UT) senior Grant Gardner in both the 1600m (4:15.43) and 3200m (9:08.14). He ended out his season running 4:20.32 in the mile at Brooks PR.
