San Diego Section Season In Review

ATHLETES OF THE YEAR


Girls

Track: KRISTIN FAHY (La Costa Canyon/Sr.) -- Won the State Meet title in the 3200, setting a San Diego Section record in the process (10:11.38). That time ranks No. 1 CA and No. 9 U.S. for 2019. Three-time San Diego Section champion at 3200m.

Field: ALYSAH HICKEY (Coronado/Sr.) -- Won medals at the State Meet in the high jump and long jump for the second year in a row. This year, Hickey won the high jump title and placing third in the long jump. As a junior, Hickey won the long jump and placed fourth in the high jump. 



Boys

Track: KENAN CHRISTON (Madison/Sr.) -- Won State Meet titles in the 100m and 200m, tying the meet record in the 100 (10.30). Earlier in the season, Christon set the San Diego Section record for 200 and continued to lower that mark until it was 20.55. Christon ranks U.S. No. 1 in the 200 and No. 3 in the 100. 

Field: JACOB RICE (Rancho Bernardo/Sr.) -- Two-time San Diego Section champion and State Meet medalist in the pole vault. Rice was the runner-up at the State Meet with a 16-05 PR clearance that ranks CA No. 2 and U.S. No. 21.  He had the top clearance 17 times in 19 meets this season.
