The favorite to win this race are the Sheldon girls who hold the 9th fastest time in California at 47.60. They will be challenged by one of the best teams from the Central Section, the Central HS girls. They have a best of 48.10 and will once again make the trip up north to challenge some of the best in this part of California. Edison (49.00) and St. Francis, Sacramento (49.29) are the next two best teams and will need a solid effort to stay ahead of the rest of the field.
The boys' 400m race should be a one-sided affair featuring one of the top sprinters in California. The fastest time in this field belongs to Monterey Trail from their victorious Stanford Invitational effort with a time of 41.68. Keep an eye on their anchor Zachary Larrier who rocketed a CA No. 1 in the 400m of 46.49 at the Arcadia Invitational. Their main competition should come from St. Mary's, Stockton (42.22) and Sheldon (42.36).
