Last year, three outstanding freshmen girls made their presence felt as they all podiumed at the California State 1600 meters race. Village Christian freshman Mia Barnett finished in 6th place and had a best of 4:46.77. Mayfield freshman Audrey Suarez finished in 5th place at the state meet race and had a best of 4:47.83. The best of them all was Chino Hills freshman Jacqueline Duarte. She saved her best race of the year for the state meet as she rolled to a 3rd place finish and personal best of 4:44.87.
