Alyssa Brewer

Two-time State champion at 800; had her season cut short by injury at section MOC. Brewer ranked CA #1 and US #6 with a 2018 best of 2:08.99 (from defending her title at the Dublin Distance Fiesta) at the time of her injury; also won second consecutive title at Arcadia (2:09.81); One of nine girls who have won at least two 800m titles dating to the start of girls State competition in 1974; When she placed 2nd at the NC MOC (2:12.91) on May 26 it was her first loss in 26 races of significance during the CIF calendar (discounting trials, pre- and post-season competition) of her four-year high school career. 

Nyree Brown

Segerstrom/SS

300H

One of the top 300 hurdlers fell during the championship race and wasn't able to compete for a medal; ran second-fastest time of her life (42.34) for 2nd at State Prelims; PR of 41.86 in winning the SS Division 1 title is CA #3 and US #6 in the class; two-time State finalist who was 5th as a junior.

Kirsten Carter

Santa Rosa/NC

200, 400

Double-medalist at State, placing 3rd in the 400 (54.0; CA #4 and US #13 in the class) and 6th in the 200m (24.18/0.3; CA #8 among wind-legal marks); four-time State qualifier in the 200 and first-time medalist; two-time State qualifier in the 400 and former State finalist in the 100 (6th in 2017)..



Santa Cruz/CC

800, 1600

Placed 4th at State (for the second consecutive year) in the 800 (2:09.58; CA #6); four-time State qualifier, two-time medalist; 1600 PR (4:47.89 for 2nd at Stanford)  is CA #7 in the class and US #10 in the class.

Micah Fulton

Muir/SS

Placed 2nd at State in the triple jump (41-04.50/0.4; CA #3 for wind-legal marks); all-conditions PR of 41-5 from the SS Division 4 prelims is CA #4; two--time State medalist who was 4th as a junior; LJ PR (18-11.50/-0.6) is CA #7 all-conditions in the class.

Mya Greene

Placed 6th at State in the 300 hurdles (42.54); PR (42.32 for 2nd to eventual State champion Jada Hicks in the SS Division 1 final) is CA #6 and CA #4 in the class; 100H PR (14.16/1.5 for 3rd at Mt. SAC Relays; CA #8 in the class for wind-legal marks); three-time league champion in both hurdles and the long jump (17-9.5 PR);

Capistrano Valley/SS

1600, 3200

Placed 6th at State in the 3200 (10:21.13); PR of 10:09.54 for 2nd at SS Division 2 Finals is CA #3, US #9; State finalist at 1600 as a junior (placing 10th); posted 1600 season best (4:50.33) for 4th at Mt. SAC Relays.

Jaylah Herron

Serra/SS

400, Relays

Placed 5th at State in the 400 (54.80) and was key to both of Serra's relays which led to the State team title; battled through swollen knee on championship Saturday but still ran 400 PR (CA #5) and a 53.1 anchor split on the runner-up 4x400 relay (3:44.37) that clinched the state title. 

Allie Jones

San Marcos/SS

100H, LJ, Heptathlon

Double medalist at State, placing 5th in the 100 hurdles (13.87) and 6th in the long jump (18-05/1.4); 100H PR (13.79/0.5 at SS Division 2 prelims) is CA #5 all-conditions); Multi-talented athlete who placed 2nd in the heptathlon at the Arcadia multis (4,830 points). 

Zani Meaders

Chino Hills/SS

400, Relay

Placed 6th at State in the 400 (55.00); 400 PR (54.89 to win league title) is CA #5; runner-up in both SS Division 1 (55.04) and SS Masters (55.49); helped 4x400 relay team to 3rd at State (3:45.44; CA #3).

Dominique Ruotolo

Mater Dei/SS

LJ, TJ
Placed 4th at State in the long jump (19-02.75/1.2; CA #9); TJ season best (41-4.5) is CA #5; qualified for State in both jumps but was hampered by injury; SS Masters champion in both jumps; also has a high jump PR of 5-8.

Placed 4th at State in the 400 (54.20) and also made the final in the 200 (placing 9th in 24.71); 400 PR (53.95 for 2nd to eventual State champion Tierra Robinson-Jones at NC MOC) is CA #3, US #10 in the class; 200 PR (24.35 from State Prelims) is CA #10 in the class; three-time State qualifier and two-time medalist at 400.



Redwood/NC

1600, 3200

Among an elite class of distance runners who pushed times lower seemingly every race; placed 10th at State in the 3200 (10:35.81); PR for 3200 of 10:14.11 for 3rd at Arcadia is CA #6, US #13; PR for 1600 of 4:46.22 from NC Redwood Empire Area is CA #7, US #13.

Double medalist at State, placing 3rd in the 100 hurdles (13.73) and 4th in the 100 meters (11/71/1.2); 100H PR (13.70/1.8 from CS South) is CA #4 among wind-legal marks; 100m PR (11.49/1.1 also from CS South) is US #8 among wind-legal marks; three-time State qualifier in the 100m and two-time medalist; two-time State qualifier in the 100H, first-time medalist.

Placed 2nd at State in the 800 (2:08.51; CA #2 and US #8 in the class); two-time State finalist and first-time medalist; SS Division 4 champion (2:13.26).
