San Diego Section Set to Crown Champions at Balboa Park Saturday

 The San Diego section is awarded multiple team qualifiers to the CIF State Championships from each division. Those are noted in the division size breakdown below. Up to five individuals not on a qualifying team and placing among the top group overall will also advance. The depth of the field they need to place in various by division and is based on a formula according to the number of qualifying teams allowed. That place is noted below.

The NCS Divisions are as follows:

Division I        2,300 and above  (two teams per gender; up to five individuals in the top 12)
Division II       1,900-2,999    (four teams per gender; up to five individuals in the top 16)
Division III      1,500-1,899  (three teams per gender; up to five individuals in the top 14)
Division IV       1,499-600   (three boys teams, two girls teams: top five for boys among the top 14; top five girls among the top 12)
Division V        599-below   (three teams per gender; up to five individuals in the top 14)
