Tara Davis Finishes Historic High School Career With CIF Championship Triple

Agoura (Ca.) High senior Tara Davis finished her high school career in the best way possible.

The University of Georgia signee scored a historic triple at the California Interscholastic Federation Track and Field Championships on Saturday, winning the long jump, triple jump and 100m hurdles -- missing out on a national remarkable after a positive wind reading

Davis, who finished her career with five state championships and two national titles, earned her second straight victories in both the triple jump and 100m hurdles.

But perhaps the most impressive performance was in the hurdles where Davis ran 12.83 seconds. It would have been under the national record of 12.84 second last set by Tia Jones of Georgia in 2016. But Davis looked up at the scoreboard and saw a 3.7 wind reading, marking the performance out of contention for the record books.

Still, Davis' night was special. She also won the long jump in 20 feet, 8.25 inches and scored a winning triple jump and US No. 3 mark of 43-4.
