This Week: #FocusOnFroshSoph



Frosh/Soph competition is a big deal in California. There are some other states that have events for JV athletes, but nowhere else in the country is there as big an emphasis specifically on 9th- and 10th-grade athletes. They get whole invitationals to themselves here, and most leagues have separate events to allow them to compete. That's a big part of the reason why the Golden State is so strong in track & field - the best young talent gets an early chance for meaningful competition that allows these future stars to develop into top-flight varsity scorers.
